100 Songs from a 100 years ago
Listed on the Educational Cyber playground, this is a list of 100 well-known songs, from the National Children's Folksong Repository. How many of these do you know? Your kids? Older relatives? It's humbling to realize that with each generation, these songs are slowly being forgotten. Children of past generations knew nearly all of these songs by heart. While we have at our fingertips any song we could desire through the internet, we seem to be losing the ability to learn and to pass on songs from our families' and our nation's heritage. I encourage you to take a shot at singing one of these traditional songs for your kids...someday they'll thank you for it.
